  • The eye manages the sight.
  • Eye is a sensory organ.
  • The eye is covered by a thin transparent film called the Cornea.
  • The cornea covers the iris and the frontal of the eyeball.
  • The sclera is white colour and opaque.
  • Sclera is the outermost layer of the posterior and lateral aspects of the eyeball.
  • Sclera keeps the shape of the eye and gives attachment of the extrinsic muscles of the eye.
  • The light enters to the eye via the cornea and focus on the retina.
  • The choroid is found just beneath the sclera and, it is a thin layer rich with blood vessels.
  • Iris is a circular and coloured body composed of pigment cells.
  • The lens is found behind the iris.
  • The lens is elastic, biconvex transparent disc, made up of proteins and enclosed with a transparent capsule.
  • In the front of the lens, there is a clear watery substance called aqueous fluid.
  • Behind the lens, there is a colourless and transparent jelly like vitreous humour.
  • The retina is the innermost lining of the eye.
  • The retina has photoreceptor cells called rods and cones.
